How to start affiliate marketing?

 How to start affiliate marketing?

I used to think that being involved in affiliate marketing is effortless and is an easy way to earn passive income. Well, it is not AND money does not simply fall from the sky.

In any business success - EFFORT and COMMITMENT - is Key. So before you immerse yourself in this business - ask yourself whether you are willing to put in 100% EFFORT and COMMITMENT.

By definition “Affiliate marketing is the process of earning a commission through promoting other people's or company's)products. You find and select a product you like ( which is usually termed as NICHE) promote it to others and earn a piece of the profit for each sale that you make. “ Sound easy as ABC right?

Well technically not that easy as you see it. You need to be committed to learn the steps towards become an Affiliate Marketer and most important is to take ACTION.

Here are some basic steps as to how I got started, and what do after you started

I first tried learning from internet but find it rather difficult to understand. There is lots of Video on YouTube but the tutorials are rather scanty in content . So the next best thing I did was to enroll in a classroom program that guided me step-by-step on how to get started as an Affiliate Marketer. This was my initial investment -knowledge acquisition. To start in any business , one need to put in a small investment initially - for nothing is free. But this investment has given me good returns indeed.

The program also required that I made a small investment in having at least one domain name and a web hosting account to be registered - just like any other business - it must have a name and a site. For web hosting and domain name there is plenty of service providers to chose from such as BlueHost; GoDaddy etc

You also need to sign up for your auto-responder account ( eg. AWeber or GetResponse) to capture and store emails of your clients/customers who subscribed to your promotions. One thing to remember is that both web hosting and auto - responder services requires payment - but it is cheap and affordable.

Next, you need a to identify your NICHE. If you don't quite know what your niche is yet, here's some advice that you might find useful. Some key questions to ask yourself when determining your niche are: What topics am I already passionate about? Is there money in this niche? Is there enough interest in/demand for products in this niche? Are there affiliate programs available in this niche?

Choosing an affiliate program that cater to your chosen Niche will take some work. Put in a significant amount of time into analysing the program because this is, of course, where your income will come from, How much commission are you likely to make from the products? Make sure you sign up for programs that are profitable and generate a sufficient return in on investment.

There are many Affiliate Programs for both physical products available in the market such as Amazon Associate etc. and for digital product such as ClickBank, CJ.com, ShareASale; Market Health;JVZoo and so forth. You need to sign up for a free membership before you can start promoting their products. The terms of commission will be spelled out clearly by these programs

Finally, once your site is ready, it's time to create content for it. The content you create must be relevant to your niche but also interesting and engaging enough to keep your audience coming back. There are many software available on how to create your Landing Page/Squeeze page that can be used to attract subscribers. Just get one of these to meet your basic need when creating this page to be uploaded to your website.

Then you need to promote your products by getting lots and lots of traffic to your products. There are free traffic method - such as through FaceBook Postings, YouTube Video ; On-line Forums; Blogs - and through paid traffic such as advertisements in FaceBook; Bing Ads or Solo ADs

So there you go, some basic information to get started in affiliate marketing. The lure of affiliate marketing is undeniable; who can resist passive income? But to make that passive income happen, you have got to put in some work first. The steps listed above are well…not passive. You need to commit; take action and persevere to see success.

Is there any difference between the way you understood love as a single and now that you are married?

Is there any difference between the way you understood love as a single and now that you are married?

So far so good, my understanding of love while single remains the same now that I am married. I never took love as just a word but an act. I always saw it as simply a ‘give and take’ concept that involves acceptance, understanding, tolerance, sacrifice at some point, selflessness, empathy. In summary, Love is same, single or married.

What was the most important attribute you were looking out for in a partner?

Understanding, yes! Handsome and good looking, yes ooo!! Humble, honest, God fearing but not a fanatic, every good thing but most of all, empathetic. An empathetic man is an understanding, loving and caring man, with no pride. My view though

How were you convinced about him being “the one”?

I’m always myself with him likewise him with me. My kind of craze is his, like we ‘craze’ together, we literally do everything together. He does nothing without my knowledge, like nothing. I am always in the picture, from picking out outfits to taking decision on everything. He’ll never ever judge me, rather corrects me with love.

Always peaceful. He made me his priority and my happiness his. He looks out for me all the time. Has grade one in overlooking unnecessary things. Not a fanatic but he sincerely loves God.

People say marriage isn’t always a bed of roses, true or true?

Marriage isn’t always a bed of roses, yes. It has its ups and downs and challenges. Sometimes you are faced with problems waiting to be solved with money, sometimes your partner falls ill or faces challenges at work or with his or her family, costing them happiness and peace of mind. It is then left for you as the partner to go out of your way to cheer and help solve the problem. Sometimes a little misunderstanding comes up and a fight/quarrel ensues, but that shouldn’t linger. Always make sure you make up. Bae and I do have misunderstandings sometimes but it doesn’t matter and has never cost us our happiness or peace of mind because we always find a way to make up.

Advise to young ladies who are about to embark on the journey of forever and those already married  . (Please, this is the most important part. Kindly open your heart).

Marriage isn’t something anyone embarks on without being ready all round for it and certain about it. It is a lifetime journey with no one else but you and your man. Be prepared because it won’t be rosy always. Misunderstanding will come up at some point (remember, two different individuals from different backgrounds are living together), you’ll fight but be sure to make up and do it as soon as possible.

No two people agree on everything, and that’s okay, but it’s important to be okay with each other’s differences. Don’t argue to win or lose but always work with your man to proffer solutions to any problem. Never work alone; carry him along in all u do, work alongside him, he’ll be pushed to do same with u. Bear in mind that love is a commitment and not just a feeling. Never miss making time together with your man a priority. This is the currency of every relationship, so make sure to invest in it.

Don’t let the initial spark and happiness depart from your home; always find reasons to laugh even in the hard times. Don’t cease being his top fan/encourager not his top critic; that doesn’t mean you won’t correct him, you will but don’t criticise him disrespectfully. Don’t compare your marriage, yours is unique.

Avoid secrecy, it is an enemy to intimacy. Exempt lies, they break trust which is the foundation of every strong relationship. Whenever you make mistakes, admit them and seek forgiveness. Give your best to him and not leftovers after you’ve given to everyone else, I bet he’ll do same.

Make him your world, he will definitely make you his. You wouldn’t make him go days without food or water, so don’t make him go days without you, that is to say, prioritize what happens in the bedroom; it takes more than sex to build a strong marriage but it is nearly impossible to build a strong one without it.

Practice patience. Allow him his space when he needs it, we all at some point in our lives need space to be alone. When other things become more important, such as careers, children, and personal pursuits, trouble sets in. Make the relationship your top priority, but don’t lose yourself doing so. Permit your marriage flourish.

Never lose the fine art of dating. Set aside a romantic evening every once in a while. Take time to have some fun together every day, with today’s hectic schedules, it’s easy to find your marriage at the bottom of the priority list but never let that happen, always initiate fun things you can do together because u know men, they sometimes fail in that aspect; Take a walk and hold hands (nature calms), cook together, share little hugs and kisses with him, dance and play (food/pillow fight or any play at all), see movies together; It doesn’t have to be expensive, but if you make the commitment and effort to laugh together as often as possible, it can sweeten your connection and cement your relationship for life. Increase the use of the following statements:

“I love you’, ‘I’m here for you’, “I understand’, ‘I’m sorry’, ‘Thank you’, ‘I really appreciate all that you do’. Compliment your spouse everyday. A compliment is a sign of acknowledgment and appreciation. Make an effort to affirm your spouse’s value in life, and in love, it makes him appreciate you as well. You are entitled to the occasional bad moods, but you are not entitled to making your partner the whipping girl or boy. Always make sure u come around. He would not know what you’re feeling, thinking or why you’re upset, you will have to tell him, don’t just nag.

Learn your man’s language. What makes him feel most loved? What ticks him off? Always pray for him. Obey God, it does wonders in your home. If your spouse treats you with kindness, gentleness, patience and self-control, it’s easy for you to respond kindly, and if you are treated badly, with anger, impatience, etc., it’s difficult to be nice in return, right? So, focus on how you can be a blessing to your spouse, his happiness and peace, and, in turn, you will be blessed and happy and so will your marriage.

Be romantic, occasionally leave him notes or SMS reminding him how much you love him, how grateful you are to have him, how much of a blessing he is to you, just be creative. Do what works for you.

BE CAREFUL WITH SO CALLED FRIENDS: A STORY THAT TOUCHES THE HEART:

BE CAREFUL WITH SO CALLED FRIENDS:

A STORY THAT TOUCHES THE HEART:

Qaphela Gobodo!

2016!

I have always kept this boy's photos on my phone to remind myself of the intricacies of human relationship.

And the anatomy of jealousy.

Of hatred.

And alloyed trust.

I remember how my heart macerated with unshed tears when I first read his story.

But then, it was a pedagogy of many things about life.

Qaphela Gobodo.

15 years old lad from a humble background in Wellington, Western Cape, South Africa.

But with a dream that was as tall as a steeple.

One of the most hardworking lads that the creator ever carved out of the dust of Wellington.

His biggest dream in life was to be a professional rugby player.

To play for Springboks.

That was the linchpin of his life!

And damn, did the young man throw his whole life force into it?

Yeah, he did!

And the results were quite alarming.

He was destined for great things.

He was the greatest rugby player in his school in Bergriver.

He became the first black captain of his school's rugby team, and the first black student to play in the team.

He was the pride of Bergriver rugby team.

And then, his hard work brought him in very close proximity of his dream.

The big dream of playing for Springboks.

He won a rugby scholarship to Hoerskool Garsfontein, one of the most prestigious schools in Pretoria.

Through this scholarship his dream of making it to Springboks would be realized.

Family were proud.

He would be the light of the tribe.

The custodian of immortality.

And then he shared the news to his teammates, "Hey, guys, I'm one step away from Springboks! The dream is happening..."

But what he could not interpret was the jealousy that was hidden in their hearts.

Then one fateful afternoon, he took an excuse from class to go to the bathroom.

And while coming outside from there, a group of four boys attacked him.

One hit him with a golf stick on his head, and he fell into unconsciousness on the floor.

Then they poured paraffin on him, and set him ablaze.

They burnt him alive!

He lay on the ground for several minutes without knowing that he was burning alive.

And no one saw him.

When he regained consciousness several minutes later, he ran towards the principal's office screaming for help.

With his body still on fire.

And everyone scared of getting close to him.

But he ran to the tap, opened it and went under it.

To subdue the fire.

And ambulance was called to take him to the hospital.

Everyone gave up on him. The burns were too severe and no one thought he could make it.

When his father saw him, he broke down in tears and said, "So, my son, you're going to leave me at such a young age?"

When his sister saw him, she stood afar in tears and cried, "No, this is not my brother. This is not my brother... I want to see my brother."

But Qaphela replied them, "Don't be scared, I'm not going to die. No, I'm not going anywhere. I'm going to live, and I'm going to come back and play rugby."

And God heard the faith of that brave lad.

Because if a man's faith says "Yeah" even God Himself cannot say "Nay" to him.

20 surgeries were the number of surgeries he underwent in a space of four months.

Now the shocker!

Do you know the people that burnt Qaphela?

His teammates!

Though he couldn't remember their faces after the shock of the attack.

The same friends he had shared the good news of his scholarship with.

The same friends he had shared his dream of Springboks with.

The same friends he thought were happy with him.

When he returned from the hospital, the scholarship was gone!

The dream of Springboks faded away.

Even though he tried to give himself to rugby again.

But things were never the same again

His scars would never allow him to have that dream again.

Why?

Because of friends he trusted with his secrets.

But then...his story has continued to touch the heart of a generation

Redefining the concept of trust for millions of people across Africa and beyond.

During one of his interviews, Qaphela said that his biggest mistake in life was learning too late that it is not every secret that is supposed to be shared with friends.

This is life!

And in life, we have to be careful of the kind of success stories we share with friends.

Especially when those successes are not yet mature.

Because the truth is, not every friend is going to be happy with your success, even though they might pretend to be in your presence.

Not every friend is happy that you are going farther than them in life.

Many friends see you as a competitor, and once they see that you have gone ahead of them, they begin to hate on you.

And start looking for ways to bring you down.

It's a messed up world.

It's alright to trust people.

But then, learn to keep your secrets to yourself.

Sometimes, you don't have to tell people the plans you are making in life when those plans are still at early stages.

We will never be able to know who truly wishes us well, and who don't.

For the ones we call best friends might actually be the biggest enemies we have around us.

Never let your guard down.

Never trust someone so deeply to the level that you give them the power to destroy you.

If they know all your secrets, then they can destroy you.

May God save us from Known and Unknown Wicked Friends.

EFCC, ICPC, DSS Not Enough: Buhari Govt Approves Establishment Of Another Anti-corruption Agency

EFCC, ICPC, DSS Not Enough: Buhari Govt Approves Establishment Of Another Anti-corruption Agency

President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration has approved the establishment of a new anti-corruption agency.

The new agency approved by the Federal Executive Council will be saddled with proper coordination of all recovered looted assets.

The Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami disclosed this to State House correspondents after the FEC meeting on Wednesday.

He said the new agency, known as the ‘Proceeds of Crime Recovery and Management Agency’, will oversee the responsibility of managing the assets that constitute the proceeds of crime in Nigeria.

The Minister said the FEC has approved transmission of a bill, titled, “Proceeds of Crime Recovery and Management Agency Bill,” to the National Assembly.

He said, “The Federal Ministry of Justice presented to Council a memo (on Wednesday).

“The memo is about a Bill which seeks the approval of the Council to transmit to the National Assembly for passage.

“It is the Proceeds of Crime Recovery and Management Agency Bill.

“It is in essence a bill that is targeted and intended to have in place a legal and institutional framework. The legal component of it is having a law and the institutional component of it is to have an agency that will be saddled with the responsibility of managing the assets that constitute the proceeds of crime in Nigeria.

“What happens before now is the proceeds of crime are scattered all over, and mostly in the hands of different and multiple agencies of government inclusive of the police, the DSS (Department of State Service), EFCC (Economic and Financial Crimes Commission), and ICPC (Independent Corrupt Practices and other Related Offences Commission).

“So, with that kind of arrangement which is ad-hoc, there is no agency of government that is saddled with the responsibility of data generation, an agency that can give you off-hand the number of landed assets, number of immovable assets, the amount in cash that are recovered by the federal government by way of interim forfeiture overweigh of a final forfeiture.

“So, it is indeed over time a kind of arrangement that is not uniform and consistent.

“If you have a budget item for recovered assets, this agency will now be in a position to provide information to the federal ministry of finance, budget and National Planning on-demand as to what amount is there available for budget purposes, thereby establishing the desired transparency, the desired accountability which has not been available before now,” the AGF stated.

Recall that Ibrahim Magu, the suspended Acting Chairman of the EFCC, had urged the Justice Ayo Salami-led Judicial Commission of Inquiry investigating him to summon Abubakar Malami, the Attorney General of the Federation, AGF.

Magu explained that Malami should come before the panel so his lawyers can cross-examine him on the credibility of the allegations he made.

The suspended EFCC boss sought permission to subpoena Malami to appear before the panel.

In response, however, Malami had said he will gladly before the Justice Ayo Salami-led Presidential panel if he is summoned.

Magu’s activities as the acting Chairman of the EFCC from 2015 to 2020, is under investigation.

OBASANJO HIT HARD ON NIGERIANS' LEADERS, GIVE THE REASON WHY IPOB IS ANGRY

OBASANJO HIT HARD ON NIGERIANS' LEADERS, GIVE THE REASON WHY IPOB IS ANGRY

IPOB- President

basanjo on BBC’s HardTalk reveals while the Indigenous People of Biafra(IPOB), are angry with Nigerians’ leader especially on President Buhari’s administration.

“My friends who are not from the East of Nigeria where Igbos come from often ask me why there is so much anger in the East and among Igbos. Some wonder why, despite the famed Igbo” wealth’ and enterprise all over Nigeria, the people still complain that Nigeria is unfair to them. Some insinuate that the anger comes from the loss of the 2015 election by Jonathan who the Igbos heavily backed.

And why is it that the current generation of Igbos is so angry as to contemplate carrying arms against the country? With lots following Nnamdi Kanu of IPOB with his secessionist message.

Those not following Kanu may despise his antics and rhetoric but are sympathetic to his underlying message. And what is that message? That Igbos don’t feel wanted in Nigeria.

That decades of official marginalization and discrimination should be stopped or they should be allowed to take their chances in a new nation.

First, for those who think this is all about Jonathan and Buhari. It is not. Igbos were disappointed that Jonathan did not win. But those whose candidates lose elections lick their wounds. It is allowed.

It happens when your candidate loses the election. Why did the Igbos invest so many emotions in Jonathan, a non-Igbo from Ijaw? It was more because of the fear of their experience in the past 50 years. Nigeria has placed an embargo on any Igbo man becoming Nigerian president and Igbos understands this.

Jonathan was the next best thing. Other parts of Nigeria have supported their sons to the presidency. Some have bombed Nigeria into submission to get their sons to Aso Rock.

Igbos have little capacity to blackmail Nigeria to the presidency. They chose Jonathan as their “Igbo”. But that’s not to say that they are angry enough because he lost to contemplate going to war on his behalf.

Jonathan was not really the model of a President the Igbo would go to war for. And even his Ijaw people have accepted his loss.

So? Igbo anger has been building up in Nigeria since the 70s. As kids, people made choices in other parts of Nigeria school years based on the narrative of the Igbo place in Nigeria. They knew about the glass ceiling against Igbos.

After the civil war, despite the “No winner, no vanquished” program, Nigeria placed glass ceilings and no-go areas for Igbos. The war reconstruction program was observed more in the breach.

There was the “abandoned” property program that was introduced to drive a wedge between components of former South-East Nigeria.

While the country was too embarrassed to put the discrimination program down in an official gazette, it was there for anyone who cared to look. It was evident in the Igbo police officer who stayed in one position while less qualifies juniors progressed to become his bosses.

It was evident when no Igbo qualified to become the Inspector General of Police or lead any division in the armed forces. It was there when “sensitive” or “lucrative” positions were shared in Nigeria and Igbos were conspicuously absent.

It was there when Igbos were only fit enough to be made Minister of Information until Obasanjo administration came to power. And even recently, it was there when Buhari appointed 47 people to man the critical roles in his government and no one from the Southeast was there.

Any time there is a federal appointment in Nigeria, it’s usually the east that is left to shout. It was there from Buhari’s first term as a Military Junta to his second coming and any other time in-between.

The Igbo elite called it marginalization. Other Nigerians countered by saying no part of Nigeria was getting enough. Marginalization was universal. But they forgot something.

The Igbo cry of marginalization was an official policy. It was expected. It was programmed. And occasionally, key government officials let it slip that Igbos should not complain. After all, they fought a war with Nigeria.

Talk about No Victor, No Vanquished. There was a Victor alright. And they were reminded of that at every turn. Every appointment. Every national project was propagated with the glass ceiling in mind to contain the Igbos.

How can any nation grow when the leaders are mandated to keep a viable component of her resources subjugated and useless because of fear and insecurity? Nigeria was only pretending. Igbos were licking their wounds and complaining and the rest of Nigeria were too busy to notice.

Go to the South-East today. Since the 70s and the oil boom. Nigeria has invested in commercial industries across the country. None has been sited in the Southeast. None. Refineries, Steel Plants, Cement Firms. Any Industry.

The southeast was systematically deindustrialized. Even when it was the best location for any industry, there was always a reason why it should not be sited there.

What this means was that any Igbo man that wanted to work in a commercial federal establishment had to leave the east. Add this to the indigenization policy of the early 70s that pushed the Igbos out of private companies. It meant that international companies also avoided expansion into the southeast.

The Nigerian Breweries, the Dunlop, and other such firms sited their plants outside the East and only set up distribution centers to sell in the region.

This is one of the main reasons the exodus of Igbos from the zone accelerated after the war and continues to this day despite the hostility they face in certain parts of Nigeria. And why most Igbos became traders and commercial businessmen. Access to organized work either in the government, government commercial institutions, and even commercial institutions was limited.

This concerted government plan worked so well that even Igbos began to hate themselves and hate to invest in their zone to this day.

The only industrial enterprise in the east is built by easterners; Nnewi, Aba, Onitsha. These are Igbo indigenous industrial cities.

The plan was to frustrate them from investing in their zone or force them to move the industry to North or West where it can be taken from them after getting them to transfer the technology.

This has been the practice since the end of the war.

In addition to this, the Federal Government has systematically made it difficult for Easterners to do commercial business even in the East.

The Federal Roads in the East are some of the worst in Nigeria. The Eastern Seaports have been made ineffective. It was a war to get the Enugu Airport upgraded to an International Airport.

The former Finance Minister shed tears on the day the first International Flight landed in Enugu. Yes, Okonjo Iwealla cried! Recently, it was only the South East that was conspicuously missing in the New Railway Plan of the Federal Government.

Nigeria has 6 regions and one was missing in a national railway plan while nobody cares. Incidentally, Igbos who reside in the east are the most itinerant in the country and would benefit most from a national transport plan. Even our President Buhari changed the plan to include his village but a major zone of the country was not included.

When you go to the east, despite the lack of federal presence, the presence of police all over the east tells a story. They mount roadblocks and make it difficult to have commercial activities to run smoothly. Recently, Customs has joined. And lastly the army. It is an occupied territory. They extort money.

They intimidate them by all means. They have recently started shooting and killing them.

Nigeria has made the east unlivable. They sponsor dubious governors, senators, and political leaders that take orders from the caliphate – Purposely, Carefully.

In conversations, people often accuse the east of being clannish or tribalistic. That is far from the truth. No group assimilates or blend in more than the Igbos. They claim Igbos are welcome in all parts of Nigeria, but outsiders cannot come to the East. The question is: why would anyone come to the east? To do what?

There is no business to do in the east. Nigeria has ensured that. Why would someone from the South West of Nigeria go to the East to invest? No one would prevent them. But it hardly makes commercial sense. Nigeria has ensured that.

Those from the North are there in droves. Igbos love to celebrate with cows. And the cattlemen go there to sell their cattle. No one molests them. In the villages in the East, these northerners live unmolested. But those are the only people who can find commercial reasons to be there! So those who wonder why Igbos are angry, wonder no more.

While most would not dare carry arms against Nigeria, don’t underestimate the level of disconnection and anger especially among the younger generation who feel hopeless and in prison for something they did not do.

Nigeria is made of nations that came together to form the country. No nation will like to remain in perpetual servitude or slavery. Igbos were at the forefront in the fight for Nigerian independence against Britain. If they did not allow Britain to subjugate them, they surely will not allow any local power or they may strike at the slightest opportunity at other pseudo dominating power over them.

That Nnamdi Kanu’s supporters starred down army tanks with sticks is a sign that the next generation will be ready to fight bare hands if necessary to stop Nigeria treating the Igbo nation as second class citizens.

There will be fiercer and angrier Kanus in the immediate future if Nigeria does not officially stop the “vanquished “program against the Igbos who fought the civil war.

You cannot preach unity and indivisibility of the country on TV and all your actions point to discrimination against the components of the country. It is hypocrisy. It is as dangerous as it is foolhardy.

Let those who preach unity walk the talk and stop open discrimination of their countrymen. History has shown that you cannot decree peace. You cannot decree unity. You cannot force any group to belong to a country by force, it may work for a time. But never sustainable.

Nigeria has a lot to look forward to as a united country. It also has enough for the regions and nations that make up the country. Our diversity is a blessing. Our failure to reach our potential is caused mostly by the internal contradictions and the inability to build a fair country that can bring the best out of her component regions.

Those who shout most about loving Nigeria today are mostly those of its current unfair structure favor. But Nigeria will continue being as strong as its weakest link. And the weak links are all there to see.

The East is one of the weakest links. Until it stops being a weak link, Nigeria cannot truly make progress
