Ekwunife Celebrates Dr Chukwuemeka Ezeife, Okwadike At 83
The Senator representing Anambra Central Senatorial District, Uche Ekwunife, PhD, celebrates the former governor of Anambra State, Dr Chukwuemeka Ezeife, Okwadike as he marked his birthday, yesterday November 20, 2021.
Dr Ezeife, a respected Igbo leader was the governor of Anambra state between 1992 and 1993. He was later appointed the Presidential Adviser on political matters to President Olusegun Obasanjo.
Eulogizing Dr Ezeife, Ekwunife describes the Igbo-Ukwu born elder-statesman as a political colossus, accomplished scholar and respected Igbo opinion leader.
"Your Excellency, I remember playing the role of Chairman, planning committee during your 80th birthday celebration where you launched the book Okwadike: Nigeria, Democracy and the State of the Economy. In the book you articulated your vision on how to re-engineer Nigeria and return her to God's original design. Your courage, brilliance, intellect and commitment to nation building were and still remain exceptional.", Ekwunife notes.
"On behalf of my family and the good people of Anambra Central Senatorial District, I thank God for granting you longevity, sound health of mind and body, and pray Him to sustain you as you continue to deploy your experience and knowledge in service to Igboland and Nigeria at large", the ranking lawmaker concludes.

Breaking News! Many feared dead following Tanker explosion at popular Kubwa market
Fire has gutted the popular Kubwa Village market in Bwari Area Council, Abuja, killing unspecified number of persons.
Aprokorepublic gathered the incident which razed down several shops occured on Friday evening.
Details of the inferno are still sketchy as at press time, however, a source disclosed told our reporter that the incident followed a tanker explosion close to the market.
According to her, many corpses have been recovered from the scene of the incident.
Champions League: You won’t beat me again – Guardiola warns Tuchel
Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola, has vowed not to lose again to Chelsea’s Thomas Tuchel, as they face each other in the Champions League final this Saturday.
Since he arrived at Stamford Bridge in January, Tuchel has played City twice.
The German has defeated Guardiola’s men on both occasions in the FA Cup semi-final and Premier League.
However, Guardiola is confident their previous matches will not be in his players minds come the big night.
Speaking to Rio Ferdinand on his YouTube channel, the Manchester City boss was asked whether the recent defeats will hand Tuchel’s side any kind of advantage, to which Guardiola said: “Absolutely nothing – zero.”
He continued, “I know how we prepared for this final and the reason why we came just two days after qualifying through the Dortmund game and after the semi-finals, you know in that moment – well deserved, congratulations to Chelsea, but it’s a new game, we’ll face them Saturday and see what happens
