The Supreme Court Judgment: No Cause for Alarm!

By Ratiowen

The most anticipated judgment for the disqualification of some people who breached certain provisions of the Electoral Act, 2022 was delivered yesterday at the Supreme Court in Abuja. The suit, which was instituted by one of the political parties that contested the last presidential election, prayed the disqualification of the APC candidate and, in particular, his running mate. But contrary to the expectations of many, the prayer wasn't granted. *_"The PDP lacked the locus standi to institute the suit"_*, the court ruled.

In delivering judgment the Supreme Court believed the 'double-nomination' suit in question was a pre-election matter, hence must require only an aggrieved member of the APC to challenge it in court. For another political party to challenge the same matter in court, it must be referred to as a post-election matter under non-qualification. For the OBIdients and progressive Nigerians, there is really no cause for alarm! HE Peter Obi and Labour Party have the offense as one of the grounds in their petition with PEPT and is still being tested.

Certainly, hope is very much alive and high chances of having the APC candidates disqualified as the trial continues to be tested in the tribunal. Even if the mandate hijackers are sworn-in on May 29th, they shall not last long on the seat because the gavel of justice will be smashed against them after the hard pieces of evidence before the tribunal are thoroughly proved by Dr Livy Uzoukwu-led legal counsels. When PO said,  "We won the election and will prove it in court" he is very much sure of reclaiming the stolen mandate. Believe him!

THE GENESIS OF THE TROUBLE IN LABOUR PARTY

THE GENESIS OF THE TROUBLE IN LABOUR PARTY

By An Eye-Witness/Neighbor

Sometime in late March this year, 2023, Lamidi Apapa lived in a low scale area in Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria.  He was an inconspicuous, low-life political jobber without any genuine means of livelihood. He simply moves from one political meeting to another and usually ends up with a brown envelope which corrupt politicians give to their hangers-on just to warm up the base in case they need them for their nefarious activities in the future.

Many politicians do this, so this is not a big deal. The issue here is that Lamidi Apapa does his business differently.  While other political jobbers usually collect their envelopes from the party they belong to; Lamidi Apapa collects envelopes from any politician willing to hire him for any mischief. In other words, he collects money from politicians from Labour, APC, PDP, AC, or whatever.

In the world of lager or beer parlor parlance, you can say that Lamidi Apapa does not have a specific brand. He is an ACB, who drinks Any Cold Beer. Sometimes, Apapa would even accept peanuts from any politician; he is that shameless.

In early March after the Presidential Election robbery was announced at 4:00am while Nigerians were asleep, some of Lamidi Apapa’s neighbors began to notice a huge presence of policemen in front and inside of Apapa’s residence. The concerned neighbors were worried about the sudden attention their neighborhood was getting. In addition to the law enforcement operatives, several motorcades of politicians began to show up in the late hours of night to see Mr. Apapa. The anxious neighbors also noticed that the convey of politicians were hauling bags of Ghana Must Go as they enter his residence.

After two days of these oddity in their neighborhood, the neighbor who lives adjacent to Mr. Apapa spotted his wife and one of his sons driving a brand new Land Cruiser and a Lexus SUV, respectfully. Unable to make sense of the situation, the neighbor flagged down Apapa’s son as he was about to zoom off and had the following exchange with him:

Neighbor:        “Bros, what is going on inside and around your house?”

Apapa’s son:    “Boy, our level don change ooo! My old man is now working for Asiwaju, the President-Elect.”

Two days after the above conversation, Lamidi Apapa relocated to Abuja. A few weeks later, Mr.Apapa and his co-travelers hijacked Labour Party leadership and have continued since then to destroy Labour Party as Bola Tinubu’s hired surrogates.

So, when Lamidi Apapa asks you to show the proof that he received a bribe from Tinubu, you need to ask him three simple questions (don’t make them complex because he lacks understanding):

    1. When did Nigerians begin to issue a receipt for a bribe money?

    2. How would you explain the Ghana Must Go bags that were hauled into your house after the Presidential Election result was announced?

    3. How would you explain the sudden gift of two SUVs to your family? Who is paying for your stay in a five-star hotel in Abuja ever since  you relocated to Abuja?

The above is the eye-witness account of the genesis of the recent trouble in Labour Party.

What next is Bola Tinubu planning to destroy before he sets the entire Nigeria ablaze?

When Mr Peter Obi Becomes The President Of Nigeria by M.I.J OKOYE...

When Mr Peter Obi Becomes The President Of Nigeria by M.I.J OKOYE...

In the last 8years, businesses folded because politics became more lucrative, hence the influx of investors and businessman venturing into it and abandoning trending businesses in the country. But when Peter Obi becomes the president, in the next 8years, businesses will be revived and reinvigorated, businesses will boom because politics will be solely about service and delivery of good governance, and not for ephemeral gains hence dousing the interests, scamperings and agitations for political appointments by many predators and scavengers!

When Peter Obi becomes the president, young undergraduates will focus more on their studies rather than engage more in unionism and formations of sects for courtesy calls with view of snowballing into mainstream politics which is now seen as a GET RICH QUICK scheme.

With Mr Peter Obi as the president, young undergraduates will be forced to rejig their brains, mentalities and approaches from thinking and seeing politics as the easiest way and shortest cut to affluence and affluence. Rather youths will focus more on self development and skill acquisition so as to measure up with their contemporaries rather than work strategically to gaining admission as appointees into the college of FOOD ON THE TABLE.

Once Peter Obi is declared president, the stench from the gutters on our streets will fizzle out, the nation will breathe a new aura and ambience of alluring beauty, life and lights will return to our States and cities, life will spring up in Awulian City, a once revered and choicest destination for business, leisure and merriment.

When Peter Obi becomes the president, myriads of political appointees in office recruiting young people into cartels as loyalist will effortlessly diminish as we will return to the days where appointees were scarcely found littering around the media space clout chasing, owing to little or no work to engage them.

The unwarranted recruitment for smear campaigns through vile, guile, bile, spurious and derogatory media blackmail tagged "DRAGGING" will fade, wane and ebb as just a handful of persons will be saddled with responsibilities, thereby having only the well meaning masses to contend with. Governance and government will be coordinated and the real effect felt as we wouldn't witness the wanton abuse and debasement of office and portfolios like cases where you will find an acclaimed government appointee who cannot spell his or her name, yet draws monthly stipends for doing nothing then go about constituting public nuisance!

When Peter Obi becomes the president, small and medium scale businesses will thrive and boom as Civil servants who are the major drivers of this sector will regain their relevance and purchasing power to buy whatever they want, whenever, and however..

I know with Peter Obi, governance in the next 8 years will be very serious and interesting, the simple and common things that makes life interesting and eases it cares will be attended to whilst attempting to bring to full effect and functionality the complex visions.

Summarily, if Mr Peter Obi becomes the president of Nigeria, life will be sweet again, and Nigeria will certainly return to her good old glory days as the true giant of Africa where all and sundry will yearn to come and live and be at rest.

All that is required of us now is our sincere commitments and prayers to having this dream come to fruition through one prayer: "MAY Mr. Peter Obi succeed in court."

If the judiciary is transparent and unbiased, then Mr Peter Obi must be Nigeria's president! And Nigeria shall be great again!!

Let's keep hopes alive!!!

Here Are Three Things You Should Not Tell Anyone

Three things you should not tell anyone

Everybody has a secret, something that you treasure or a past that wouldn’t want any body to know about. there are three things of upmost importance that you should not tell anyone even your best of friends if you want to succeed in life because your best friend can be your enemy in the long run.…..

Here Are Three Things You Should Not Tell Anyone.

1. Your relationship: Your relationship life should be kept a secret because you don’t know who wants it destroyed. Many couples have broken up with their spouses simply because of their inability to keep their marital affairs private.

2. Your life plans: Your life plans are the things that you set or focus on achieving in life, it .at be a long term or short term plan but whichever, you should endeavor to keep them private because not everyone wants you to become great in life. Your dreams and plans should be kept a secret. Remember that, a lot of forces, both human and spiritual are fighting against you, however, exposing your plans means exposing your life and telling your enemies how to hurt you.

Trust no one when it comes to your plans, keep them to yourself, make them known only when you have achieved them because any body can used by the devil to destroy your dreams and stop you half way.

3. Your secret. There are secrets that should be kept a secret in your life. If may be secret to wealth, business secret, secret of income or a terrible past that you would not want any one to know of. These secrets are best left between you and God.

Every great and successful man has his secrets, your secret differentiates you from the crowd. Let’s take Samson and delilah as a case study. The Philistines on many occasions have tried to no avail to destroy the Nazareth. But happened when he disclosed his secret to Delilah? His life was cut short. Mind the people you keep as friends and always keep certain things a secret best known to only you.…..

God bless you

Rati Owen With Agency Report

The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in the February 25 election, Atiku Abubakar, has requested three weeks to call 100 witnesses to prove his case against the President-elect, Bola Tinubu.

Atiku and the PDP, at the proceedings before the Presidential Election Petition Court, sitting in Abuja, on Saturday, through his legal team led by Chief Chris Uche, SAN, disclosed that among those he has lined up to testify in the matter would include expert witnesses and those he would ask the court to compel to mount the witness box.

“We may not even exhaust the three weeks because the issues are getting narrower,” the lawyer noted.

While the President-elect, Tinubu, said he would only need two days to discredit Atiku’s case, the Independent National Electoral Commission, through its lawyer, Abubakar Mahmood, SAN, told the court that it would only call two witnesses.

The All Progressives Congress through its lawyer, Mr Solomon Umoh, SAN, noted that it would also need two days to produce 39 witnesses.

Tinubu’s lead counsel at the proceedings, Mr Roland Otaro, SAN, further disclosed that his client would call 39 witnesses to testify before the court, not excluding other persons he may apply to be subpoenaed to appear before the court.

Atiku further prayed the court to declare him the winner of the presidential election, having secured the second-highest number of lawful votes cast at the election.

May 29: Why It’ll Be Difficult to Remove Tinubu, if He Is Sworn In, Bode George Speaks

PDP chieftain, Chief Olabode George has revealed his opinion regarding the swearing-in ceremony of the president-elect, Bola Tinubu

Ahead of the May 29 event, George noted that if Tinubu is sworn in, it will be difficult to remove him, adding there are issues the court needs to sort out

The PDP stalwart further said he has no personal issues with Tinubu but the APC flagbearer did not win Abuja and there should be no inauguration

The former deputy national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Olabode George, has revealed the real reason why Monday, May 29 is not sacrosanct for the inauguration of a new government.

In an interview with the Nigerian Guardian, Bode George spoke extensively on why the president-elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s inauguration should be stopped.

The PDP chieftain maintained that there are court issues that needed to be settled before the Tinubu should be sworn in, but unit the technical issues are settled at the court, Tinubu should not be sworn in.

Speaking further, Geroge maintained that the president-elect did not fulfill all requirements needed to win the election.

"Is it the same scenario that played out in 2003 that we have now? Was the contention like this? Was the 25 per cent an issue? Didn’t Obasanjo have the national spread and 25 percent in Abuja? Does Tinubu have 25 per cent in Abuja? Those are the technical issues that we are asking the Supreme Court to sort out. He (Tinubu) didn’t win Abuja. There should be no inauguration. The Constitution did not say fixatedly that it has to be May 29. If there are issues, then they should be sorted. It’s not a matter of having an interim government. It means President Buhari cannot head out. He should remain until the matter is settled."

You are a known critic of the President-elect, is that why you are clamouring that he shouldn’t be sworn-in on May 29 until the tribunal gives its verdict?

I come from a family that came from Herbert Macaulay root. He fought the British. He was the first Nigerian to establish a political party in 1922. Till he died, he was fighting and wooing Nigerians that we can manage our resources ourselves, that we don’t need the British. He was from a privileged family. Several times, the British punished him, but he remained truthful to power. That is my background. As a Christian, vengeance is the Almighty’s, not mine. Yes, he (Tinubu) offended me. He did something that was unjust, uncouth, and unreasonable to my person and he and his cohorts thought they had cocooned me. There were some people that I worked closely with, fiercely defending them, who were part of the conspiracies. But the beauty of God is that if he needs you, he will select you. If you go through that channel, and you still trust him, you’re going to come out on the highway of triumph.

For him (Tinubu), he did me a lot of evil. Initially, I was angry because I didn’t do anything to him. We can disagree without being disagreeable, and that is what is called democracy. The fact that you have a different opinion from me doesn’t make us enemies. They congregated and brought out charges that made no sense. They alleged that we split contract. I was a part time chairman of Nigeria Port Authority (NPA). If they don’t bring memos, I don’t take decisions. I wasn’t the day-to-day manager of the place. Yet, we were sentenced to prison, I went there and it was a lesson for me. I have stayed in the bedroom of the President of this country and I have also been to the bottom of the valley, sleeping in the cell in prison. The first one week, I was ravaging, that was the military me, asking what was my offence? What sin did we commit?

They’re still alive but see the powers of God, all those who perpetrated the evil, God is already descending on them. The lesson I learnt was, you can only trust one being and that is God Almighty.

FG releases official programme of events for Tinubu's inauguration

Meanwhile, the federal government of Nigeria has released the order of programme for the forthcoming presidential inauguration ceremony slated for Monday, May 29.

This development was confirmed on the official Twitter handle of the Federal Ministry of Information and Culture on Thursday, May 18.

As contained in the order of program released by the ministry, the inauguration programme kicks off with a world press conference which is currently being held in Abuja, the nation's capital.

May 29: APC stalwarts lobby Bode George ahead of Tinubu's inauguration

An emerging report has confirmed that some influential stalwarts of the Lagos state chapter of the All Progressive Congress (APC) are currently in a closed-door meeting with the former Deputy National Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Olabode George.

Some APC members in a meeting with Chief George include Prince Tajudeen Olusi, chairman of the Lagos state APC Governance Advisory Council (GAC), and Mrs Adejoke Orelope-Adefulire, the former Deputy Governor of Lagos State.

Chief George has been a long-term rival of the president-elect Bola Tinubu who vowed to relocate to Ghana if the former Lagos state governor emerges victorious at the just-concluded 2023 presidential polls.
