GODWIN EMEFIELE: A TOTAL DISGRACE TO NIGERIA'S NATIONHOOD

Retaining Mr Godwin Emefiele as the governor of Nigeria’s Apex bank is a total disaster to the country. Emefiele has delved deeply into partisan politics, and compromised with the powers that be for the purpose of certain economic benefits. Godwin Emefiele, since his administration as the CBN governor, has instituted heavy setbacks on the nation's banking industry.

His sudden politics of naira redesign has occasioned, in no small measure, hardship, hunger, poverty and total economic backwardness, not only to innocent citizenry but the country as an independent entity. The worst of all was his flagrant disobedience to the Supreme Court order to the CBN to still retain old naira notes as legal tender. This order Emefiele flouted, presenting Buhari as the mastermind, until Buhari's outright denial and rebuking of Emefiele and Malami, maintaining that Emefiele acted on gross ignorance and calculated wickedness against Nigerians.

What about the fifty-three million dollars ($53,000,000) he allegedly misappropriated, warranting the EFCC to be after him and leading to his vacation of that exalted seat to an unknown destination? Godwin Emefiele does not know digital economy, and therefore, does not want to hear anything about it. He has killed forex trading and bureau de change business in Nigeria. He is a very corrupt and crafty man. Great Nigerians, Emefiele must quit that position as CBN governor, now or never. Who is fooling who?

So many lives have been lost, and hunger has eaten deep into the fabrics of many families – all in the name of redesigning naira notes by Emefiele. We hereby implore Muhammadu Buhari to remove Emefiele now as the CBN governor, and the EFCC should pick him up. Nigerians are fully tired of his excesses.
