Russia's Threat Of Nuclear Weapons Is An Act Of Desperation

Russia's threat of nuclear weapons is an act of desperation. It is mobilizing 300,000 men by conscription, which means the Russian regular army cannot defeat Ukraine. NATO was smart. It refused to declare a fly zone so that I would not have a confrontation with Russia, but it gave Ukraine advanced surface-to-air missiles that make flying into Ukrainian airspace a suicide mission.

Without aerial superiority, Russia is on level terms with Ukraine. Ukraine has turned the tide against Russia because of eight Himars multiple rocket launchers given to its fighters by the United States, States with a promise of more to come. This has enabled Ukraine’s military to go more on the offensive. Instead of being forced into retreat by Russian artillery, Ukrainians are now destroying ammunition depots, radar, artillery positions, and warships,s and killing thousands of Russian soldiers, some of them generals.

It is a proxy war Russia fighting against NATO, specifically the United States. Russia is a small fly to the American military. Putin is digging a deep hole for himself. He can't be president forever and there is time to face international criminal court for war crimes. He has forgotten history so soon.

Putin cannot be stronger than, and more dangerous than Hitler nor charismatic enough to bank on Russians' support for his audacious ambition. Russia can't annex Ukraine under the current international order. If America can kill the Soviet Union why won't Russia be wary of the world's only superpower
