Festus Keyamo, who is a spokesperson for the APC presidential campaign council and the Minister of State for Labor and Employment, has claimed that Peter Obi's legal team is lying about their understanding of Section 134 of the Nigerian Constitution.
He stated that they had called him earlier to clarify the matter and admitted that they understood the law. However, they were still misrepresenting the law to carry out their duties.
Keyamo explained that Section 134 only requires a presidential candidate to obtain at least 25% of the votes in 24 states, excluding the FCT, or 25% of the votes in 23 states and the FCT, totaling 24 states. He added that Obi's lawyers are knowledgeable about how the law should be interpreted and had called him to confess that they were lying about the section.
Keyamo expressed satisfaction with the petitions from the Labour Party, stating that their judiciary and lawlords would make their voices heard clearly when they issue their rulings on the issues raised during the elections. He also said that the allegations made during the elections were useless.
